Boyd Gaming selected NOVUS Architecture to provide architecture and interior design services for a new 1,950 square foot Casual Asian Restaurant at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino. While the project budget was low, our team was able to create a visually appealing space by working with the timeless and fundamental design principals of balance, symmetry and order. The bright red hostess station is centered within the strong forms of the entry portal which is clad with red tinted wood laminate. Color and vibrancy were integral elements of the design which was utilized to breathe life into the rectangular space. Colorful artwork was integrated into the neutral walls. Booth and banquette fabrics were rich in color as were the vinyl fabrics used on the dining chairs. A large format custom vinyl wall mural (artwork created by R. Cline Arts) is a major focal point on the back wall of the restaurant and is used to draw one’s eye through the space. Lastly, the star of the show is the dining room ceiling light pendants which employed an organic array of 50 custom designed colorful Asian parasol lighting fixtures suspended at different heights in the center of the dining room.
