90 NINETY BAR & GRILL

Boyd Gaming selected NOVUS Architecture to design a new 3,960 square foot Gastropub Restaurant at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, replacing a closed Mexican Restaurant.  The program also included a 700 square foot outdoor patio area and new FF&E.  A year earlier, the firm designed the highly successful Bailiwick Gastropub at the Orleans Hotel & Casino.  The new Gastropub was to be a “close-cousin” to Bailiwick, but more elevated to fit the context of the Suncoast.  While located near the casino entry, the original Mexican restaurant was visually closed off from the casino.  Our team opened the entire wall adjacent to the main entry to promote voyeurism while drawing patrons inside for a closer look.  The material palette was sophisticated and warm comprised of dark wood plank LVT flooring and dark reclaimed wood and metal walls which were used to set the mood.  Complimentary brass accents were throughout and integrated into the two large suspended ceiling lighting elements which are fabricated with steel framing, brass mesh infill and a perimeter apron of 3form acrylic panels.  A vertical screen wall fabricated with steel beams and sliced 10” diameter pipe columns was used to create a smaller more intimate dining room from the larger open dining room.  A casual entry lounge, 12-person private dining room and elevated stage area create multiple experiences for patrons.
