90 NINETY BAR & GRILL

Boyd Gaming chose NOVUS Architecture to design a new 3,960 square-foot Gastropub Restaurant at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, to replace a closed Mexican Restaurant. The project also included a 700-square-foot outdoor patio area and new FF&E. The firm had previously designed the successful Bailiwick Gastropub at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in 2015. The new Gastropub was intended to be similar to Bailiwick but more upscale to suit the Suncoast's context. The original Mexican restaurant was visually closed off from the casino despite being near the entry. The design team opened the entire wall adjacent to the main entry to attract patrons as well as to promote voyeurism. The material palette comprised sophisticated and warm elements, including dark wood plank LVT flooring and dark reclaimed wood and metal walls. Brass accents were integrated throughout and into the two large suspended ceiling lighting elements, which were fabricated with steel framing, brass mesh infill, and a perimeter apron of 3form acrylic panels. Additionally, a vertical screen wall fabricated with steel beams and sliced 10” diameter pipe columns was used to create a smaller, more intimate dining room within the larger open dining room. The design also included a casual entry lounge, a 12-person private dining room, and an elevated stage area to provide multiple experiences for patrons. The project was completed in 2018.
