BAILIWICK GASTROPUB

The Boyd Gaming Corporation chose NOVUS Architecture as the Architect and Interior Designer for a new 9,000 square foot Gastropub at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. At the start of the project, our team was given three key words to guide the design: Gritty, Industrial, and Chic. The new restaurant replaced Koji Sushi Bar & China Bistro and Brenden’s Irish Pub, which were both original restaurants at the Orleans. The design approach was tasteful and elegant, while also reflecting the gritty, industrial, and chic space that the client wanted. One of the main features is a bar positioned just inside the entry, which includes a five-foot drop-down ADA-accessible surface equipped with a gaming machine. The photos below show the main dining room looking back toward the bar. We used HSS steel sections (tube steel) in a decorative way to create a screen wall that separates the booths and a transparent barrier between the bar and dining room. The photo in the upper right corner shows the 16-person private dining room, and the bottom image displays the feature bar and stage beyond. The material palette incorporates thin brick veneer, gigacrete (concrete) wall finish, industrial glazing sash, vinyl plank flooring, custom carpet, cold rolled steel, rusted steel panels, reclaimed hickory table tops, porcelain tile, and more.
