The Boyd Gaming Corporation selected NOVUS Architecture as Architect and Interior Designer for a new 9,000 SF Gastropub at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. In starting the project, our team was given the following three (3) words to guide the design: Gritty, Industrial, Chic. The new restaurant replaced Koji Sushi Bar & China Bistro and Brenden’s Irish Pub - both existing original Orleans Restaurants.  The design approach was tasteful and elegant while giving a nod to the gritty, industrial, and chic space the client wanted. A main feature bar is positioned just inside the entry. The bar has a five-foot drop down ADA accessible surface equipped with its own gaming machine. The photos below show the main dining room looking back toward the bar. HSS steel sections (tube steel) was used in a decorative way to provide a screen wall separating the booths and a transparent barrier between the bar and dining room. The image in the upper right corner shows the 16-person private dining room. The bottom image shows the feature bar and stage beyond.  The material pallet includes thin brick veneer, gigacrete (concrete) wall finish, industrial glazing sash, vinyl plank flooring, custom carpet, cold rolled steel and rusted steel panels, reclaimed hickory table tops, porcelain tile, etc.
